5 Cabinet Cards published by William Spooner of The Strand, London in 1872 and 1873.

The cards are copies of drawings by the artist.

The subjects of the drawings are described as Ruth, Looking Back, A Greek Maiden, The Little Queen and I’ve Been Roaming.

They are housed in a red cloth portfolio with gilt lettering and border.

Size: 16.5 cms x 10.5 cms.

George Francis Miles was a London based British artist, gardener, architect, friend of Oscar Wilde and some time Jack the Ripper suspect. He specialised in pastel portraits of society women.

Condition: Very Good. The cards are slightly tanned and occasionally marked. The folder is rubbed at the spine and corners. The cover has darkened and is scratched and marked. The paper within is foxed and slightly grubby but the folds are intact.
