These poster sized images were produced by Macmillan & Co to support The Gay Way reading scheme. They would have been held up for children to look at in class.

The series was edited by Ella Ruth Boyce, a prolific writer for children and long -term collaborator with the publishers.

Size: 51 x 43 cms or 20 1/2 x 17inches.

Condition: Very Good. All the images are generally very clean. One has somewhat creased corners on the bottom edge. Another has similarly creased corners and a repair to the white boarder along the top edge that appears to have been cut with a sharp blade. The damage and repair does not affect the coloured part of the images. A third image is slightly grubby - it was on top of the pile. The edges are soft and there is a closed tear, about 4 cms in length, on the bottom edge. The tear has been repaired from the reverse side.
