An original charcoal drawing of a young women.
Possibly a study from a painting in the Renaissance style .
Size: 40 x 48 cms or 15 1/2 x 19 inches.
Condition: Very Good. The drawing is unevenly shaped being shorter at the right hand side than the left. The main body of the drawing is generally faintly marked by small dark stains and foxing. There is a crease in the picture to the right hand side of the woman’s neck - a flaw of manufacture - that creates a thin dark line on the drawing at that spot. There is water damage at the edges and other marks on front and back which would suggest it has been in a frame. There are two short closed tears at the top and the base .
A skilfully drawn piece. Ideal for framing.
