A Original Charcoal life Drawing of a Man. A French Art School Piece. Early 1900’s. Large: 61 x 49 cms.
An original nude study of a man.
Probably an art school piece.
French.
It dates from the early 1900’s; a period known in France as La Belle Epoque, and in Britain and America as The Gilded Age. This long period of peace and prosperity fostered creativity and optimism. It ended with the advent of the First World War.
A large piece. It measures 61 x 49 cms or 24 x 19 inches.
The handmade paper has a blue grey tone.
Condition: The paper upon which the image is drawn is a little creased at the edges. There are two dark marks on the image; one on the man’s forehead and one on his chest. Also some peripheral spots of faint foxing and other small marks of little significance. The drawing is otherwise fresh and clean.
A highly skilled study. An ideal subject for framing.
