An original nude study of a man.
Charcoal with chalk highlights.
Probably an art school piece.
French.
The drawing dates from the early 1900’s; a period known in France as La Belle Epoque and in Britain and America as The Gilded Age. This period of peace, prosperity and optimism fostered creativity. It ended with the advent of the First World War.
A large piece it measures 63 x 48 cms or 25 x 19 inches.
Condition: The paper upon which the image is drawn is a little creased at the edges. There are two small spots of foxing close to the left hand edge and at the base; also a few additional marks of little significance. The drawing is otherwise fresh and clean.
A skilled piece of work that is ideal for framing.
