An Excellent Double-sided Watercolour Sketch of a Victorian Pub. Unknown Artist. Possibly 1920’s. Size: 35 x 25 cms.
A highly skilled sketch of a Victorian pub.
Painted in watercolour with inked detail. Double-sided.
One side shows a complete image; the other two images and ink and pencil sketches.
Artist unknown.
Size: 35 x 25 cms or 14 x 10 inches.
I am making the assumption that the painting dates from the 1920’s from the style of clothing worn by the woman in the yellow coat. She seems to be wearing a cloche hat and the coat has a low waist.
Condition: Very Good. The paintings have been removed from a pad. There are fragments of tape and paper along the top edge. The larger picture has been marked in pencil as though measured for framing. The paper is slightly tanned and creased at one corner - also lightly creased elsewhere; but the painting remains clean.
