A Large sanguine portrait of an artist or craftsman. The subject is holding some kind of drawing implement which suggests he might even be the artist.
Drawn on handmade paper it might have been a study for a painting.

Large: 61 x 47 cms or 24 x 18 1/4inches.
Condition: Very Good. The paper is creased and wrinkled particularly at the edges. There is some loss to the bottom right corner. Repairs have been made to closed tears using archival tape. This can easily be removed. There are two dark marks; one on the man’s cheek, the other on the left hand side of of the image. The portrait is otherwise clean.
A hugely skilled expressive drawing. Ideal for framing.
