Undated but known to be produced in the late 1800s.
Produced in Lyon when the city was a center for silk manuafacture.
Medium: Watercolour and pencil.
Size of design minus pencilled flourishes: 11.5 x 16.4 cms or 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 inches.
Size of surround: 22 x 28 cms or 8 3/4 x 11 inches.
There is a makers stamp on the back of the design but it is hard to make out.
Condition: Very Good. The edges of the design are slightly grubby and lightly creased. A closed tear to the right hand edge has been neatly repaired from behind . The design itself remains fresh and bright.
