Produced in Lyon when the city was a center for silk manuafacture.

Medium: Watercolour, drawing ink and pencil.

Size of design: 6.4 x 7.5 cms or 2 1/2 x 3 inches.

Size of surround: 32.6 x 23.3 cms or 12 7/8 x 9 1/4 inches.

Condition: Very Good. The design has been removed from its original backing, repaired using archival tape and remounted on vintage paper using a very small amount of glue so it is possible it could be carefully removed if preferred. There are a few small marks and flaws across the surface that have to do with age and use; but it is in the main fresh and clean.
