Hand drawn and painted.

Undated but known to be produced in the late 1800s.

Produced in Lyon when the city was a center for silk manuafacture.

Medium: Watercolour and pencil.

Size of design minus pencilled flourishes: 10.7 x 16.2 cms or 4 5/8 x 6 3/8 inches.

Size of surround: 22.3 x 27 cms or x 4 5/8 inches.

There is a makers stamp on the back of the design but it is hard to make out.

Condition: Very Good. The edges of the design are slightly grubby and lightly creased. A repair has been made to a closed tear on the right hand edge. The design itself remains fresh and bright.
