Hand drawn and painted in Lyons, France in the early 1900’s when the city was a center for silk manuafacture.
Medium: Watercolour paint and pencil.
Size of design: 8.2 x 8 cms or 3 1/24 x 3 1/8 inches.
Size of surround: 32.3 x 20.4 cms or 12 3/4 x 8 inches.
Condition: Very Good. The design has been removed from its original backing, repaired using archival tape and remounted on vintage paper using a very small amount of glue so it is possible it could be carefully removed if preferred. There are a few small marks and flaws across the surface that have to do with age and use, also loss to the black paint on the left hand side; but it is in the main fresh and clean.
