An original watercolour design for a carpet.

Created by J Arnaud Gaidan & Cie of Paris, France.

Dating from the late 1800s.

Flowers, fruit, leaves and decorative flourishes on a light brown ground. The design is attached to a white ground using tape such that it could be quite easily removed.

Size of design: 37.5 x 22 cms or 14 3/4 x 8 3/4 inches.

Size of surround: 48 x 33.5 cms or 19 x 13 inches.

Condition: Very Good. The design is fresh and clean. There is some damage to the top left hand corner and to the bottom left hand corner. The other two corners are slightly worn.
