An examination piece, a croquis en colour (a coloured sketch) for dessin a vue et memoire (sight drawing and drawing from memory).
Dated December 1938. Paris was occupied by German forces at the time.
The paintings shows a football and a croquet hoop. The school for boys and young people at which the piece was created was situated at 103 Avenue de Choisy, Ville de Paris.
The artwork seems to be to be drawn with pencil and painted using watercolour.
Size: 27 x 21 cms.
Condition: Very Good. The paper is very fine, it has been folded into quarters. It is lightly tanned and a little creased. It is otherwise clean. There is writing in ink on the reverse.
