A hand coloured lithographic print.
The outfit on the left is described as being ornamented with an inlay of knots over embossed fabric. This gives the pale blue woolen dress a youthful effect. Box pleats bring together the spots on the print of the red crepe dress. They emphasise the jabot at the collar which is of white pique fabric. Charming white embroidery decorates the blue grey dress. It’s buttons and buckle are of golden metal. The dress on the right is of houndstooth patterned silk. Pockets decorated with white ribbon add to the allure of the two piece.
Date: 1945 - 1950.
Size of image: 32.5 x 24.8 cms. Size of mount: 46.8 x 36.7 cms.
Condition: Near Fine. There are a few very small marks across the surface of the image. It is otherwise fresh and clean. The mount is slightly grubby and marked at the base so would probably need replacing.
