Produced around 1890 when the city was a centre for the production of silk textiles.
Hand drawn and painted using gouache.
Size of design: 44.3 x 36.5 cms or 17 1/2 x 14 1/2 inches.
Size of surround: 49.5 x 40 cms or 19 1/2 x 15 7/8 inches.
Condition. Very Good. There is loss to some of the gouache in the design. It remains pleasing and fresh however. The surround is a little marked. Repairs have been made to closed tears on the surround from the reverse side design.
