A set of six original engravings illustrating the manufacture of a kind of gun known as an “Arquebusier”. One covers two pages with a crease down the center.
Also three pages of text.
From Le Recueil de Planches sur Les Sciences, Les Arts Liberaux et Les Arts Mechaniques by Alain Pons; Denis Diderot and Jean Le Rond d’Alembert
Published by Chez Braisson in 1762.
Size: 15 1/2 x 10 inches or 39 x 25.5 cms.
Condition: Near Fine. The plates are slightly tanned at the edges. There are spots of faint foxing across the surface of some. One has a significantly darker spot close to the base. There are other small scratches and blemishes on each; but in the main the plates remain surprisingly fresh given their age.
An attractive and complete set.
