A collection of 12 booklets produced by Bilbille & Co of Paris. Also one produced by the Societe Des Nouveautés Textiles and one by Textile Argus.
Produced between 1937 and 1939 they detail current trends in fabrics - Woolens Woven Silks & Rayons and Printed, Couture. There is also a book entitled Nuances that illustrates the ‘Cloths and Colourings Particularly Noticed at The Fashionable Gatherings of The Grand Semaine De Paris.
The two books described as Rapports Couture detail the fashions created by Schiaparelli, Balenziaga, Chanel, Paton, Marchel Rochas, Creed, Franceevramant, , Robert Piquet and Lucile Paray amongst others.
Written in English they contain script, images and samples of fabric.
The Bilbille books measure 21.5 x 28 cms or 8 1/2 x 11 inches. The other two are slightly smaller. They average about 8 pages long.
There is some wear to the covers and darkening to the edges. Some of the pages within are marked with dark spots. One of the covers of the Bibille booklets has been made using different coloured paper to the others and had a damaged spine. Some are missing a few fabric swatches. Some of the swatches are creased or nolonger complete.
