An original French herbiere.

Date: 1862.

The plant shown is named on a separate sheet that forms a folder around the herbier itself.

The work is carefully executed, the lettering tidy and the calligraphy skilfully and very prettily done.

Size: 40.7 x 25.5 cms or 16 x 10 inches.

Condition: Very Good. The paper ground has aged and browned slightly with a tiny hole at the centre. It’s fragile paper; lightly creased all over. The image of other pressed plants from the collection colours the paper. There is a little loss to the top of a leaf. There is a small hole in the folder. All in all a lovely piece given its fragility and age.
