29 stories illustrated with full page colour illustrations and smaller black and white images within the text.
The artists are: Ka-no Tomo-nobou, Kadji-ta Han-ko and Kou-bo-ta.
Stories include: Le lapin et le sarcelle (The rabbit and the teal duck.) Le Hibou et Le Pigeon (The owl and the pigeon). Les deux paysans et le nuage (The two peasants and the cloud), L’enfant et le mirroir (The child and the mirror). Le taupe et les lapins (the mole and the rabbits) and Le rossinol e le prince (The nightingale and the prince).
Condition: Very Good. the covers of both books are wrinkled, rubbed and slightly grubby. The spines, once covererd in pale blue fabric, are worn with some loss. The first and last few pages of one of the books have been dented by weight placed on the covers. Some of the page corners are lightly turned and the base of the pages lightly creased. The bindings are sound however and the contents but for very occasional creases and marks are clean, fresh and bright.
This kind of book would have had a slip cover but this is no longer present.
