An 18th Century French textile design.

Lilac and puce coloured ferns on a black ground.

Dated 1890

Medium: Coloured ink.

The design has been fixed onto an antique paper surround using a small amount of glue.

Size of design: 17.7 x 17 cms or 7 x 6 3/4 inches.

Size of surround: 42.5 x 32.5 cms or 16 3/4 x 12 3/4 inches.

Condition: Very Good. The design does not cover the left hand edge of the paper upon which it is printed. The paper is lightly creased across its width. This about 2 cms below the top,edge. The black ground has a shiny surface quality. Neat repairs have been made to the ground from the reverse side.
