An original hand coloured copper plate engraving on laid paper.

From the Histoire Universelle du Regne Vegetal by Pierre Joseph Buchoz (1774-1780).
Printed between 1774 and 1780.
Size: 47.5 x 29 cms or 18 3/4 x 11 1/2 inches.
Pierre Joseph Buchoz (1731-1807) was a French physician, lawyer and passionate naturalist. He produced some of the finest illustrated works on natural history of the period.
Condition: Very Good. There are a few very small dark spots across of surface of the print and the white surround. It is otherwise clean. The top right hand corner has been turned and there is a small closed tear along the bottom edge. There are two strips of paper fixed to the reverse side that, as far as I can tell, serve no purpose.
