De La Fosse was an architect, ornamental designer and engraver. He produced three collections. This, his last, was considered by Bouilhet to be ‘one of the most interesting examples of depicting the furniture style of Louis XVI”
Size of whole sheet : 46 x 30.7 cms or 18 x 12.1 inches.
Size of engraved image: 33 x 22.6 cms or 13 x 8.7 inches.
Condition: Very Good. The deckle edged hand made paper is slightly creased at the edges. There is a significant crease about half way up the left hand side, a closed tear at the base and another also about half way up the left hand side. There is some fainting tanning on the border and a faint water mark on the left hand edge. There are small holes at the top of the plate from the original binding and a little faint foxing on the engraved part of the plate.
