De La Fosse was an architect, ornamental designer and engraver. He produced three collections. This, his last, was considered by Bouilhet to be ‘one of the most interesting examples of depicting the furniture style of Louis XVI”
Size of whole sheet : 46 x 30.7 cms or 18 x 12.1 inches.
Size of the engraved part of the sheet: 33.1 x 23 cms or 13.1 x 9 inches.
Condition: Very Good. The deckle edged hand made paper is slightly creased at the edges and about half way up the right hand side. There is a significant dark mark on the border; also some fainting tanning on the border and a faint water mark on the left hand edge. There are small holes at two corners and at the top of the plate from the original binding. The engraved part of the plate remains quite fresh and clean.
