Little Dame Crump. A Tiny Book Published by Henry Frowde. Excellent Condition. Very Rare. 10.5 x 6 cms.
A tiny book published by Henry Frowde in London and Hodder and Stoughton in New York.
Undated - early 1900’s - and without author; the illustrator’s name is too small for me to make out.
Soft cover. The book is encased in an envelope of brown card with a pastedown image on the front.
Size: 10.5 x 6 cms or 4 x 2 3/8 inches.
Page number: 10.
With one coloured illustration opposite the title page and smaller green illustrations in the text block.
Condition: Very Good. The cover is lightly bumped at two of the corners. The flap that closes the cover is creased. The staples at the center of the book are rusty. There are a few spots of foxing on the end paper and last page. Otherwise very fresh and clean.
A charming story in the form of a poem about a lucky find and the acquisition of a pig. Though a commonly told tale this edition is rare. I cannot find it for sale elsewhere.
