Dark green cloth covers decorated on the front and spine with gilt lettering and elaborate decoration. The pages are edges with gilt. Chapters include Christmas, The Stage Coach, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Christmas Dinner. Decorated with 104 illustrations in black and white by Randolph Caldecott that are arranged and engraved by J. D. Cooper.
Condition: Very Good. The cover is worn at the corners and top and bottom of the spine. The gilding is slightly worn but still bright. The binding is slightly loose which causes the pages to sit evenly at the fore edge; two pages are slightly damaged at the edge in consequence. There are a few breaks in the hinges. The pages are, but for occasional small marks throughout, clean and unthumbed..
