A chromolithogaph from La Faïence Populaire au XVIIIme Siecle by Mareschal. This book described the shapes, usage, decoration, colour and marks of this kind of ceramic.
Published in Paris in 1872.
Size: 26.7 x 17.2 cms or 6 3/4 x 10 1/2 inches.
The author tells us that these types of jug are, but for the decoration, similar to each other. This model from Rouen is very popular.
Condition: Very Good. The white part of the print’s surface has browned at the edges. There are a few other surface marks but none of significance.
A lovely piece for framing perhaps in combination with others.
