Six Antique Hand Coloured Lithographs (1830s) From a French Dictionary Breeds of Pigeon. Engraved by Du Carre. Size: 28. X 18 cms.
6 hand coloured lithographs from Le Dictionnaire Pittoresque d’Histoire Naturelle by Felix-Edward and Querin-Mereville.
Engraved by Le Carre.
Featuring various breeds of pigeon.
Date: 1834- 39.
Size: 28.5 x 19 cms or 11 3/8 x 7 inches. There is an additional centimetre of paper on the right hand side of the prints that I have left in place since it might be useful if the prints are to be framed.
Condition: Near Fine. There are a few marks across the surface of the prints; the edges are slightly browned, there is light foxing. They are otherwise clean and fresh. A couple of short closed tears on the additional centimeter of paper at the edge have been repaired from the reverse using archival tape. There are very small holes on this edge where thread once passed through.
