A handmade book that I assume dates from The Second World War when Laing produced other poems, most notably those published under the title Prayers and Graces that were illustrated by Mervyn Peake.
With four pages of script and four illustrations all painted by hand on one side only of thick watercolour paper.
Size: 15 x 25 cms or 5 3/4 x 5 inches.
Condition : Very Good. The cover is a little grubby. The pages within, but for very faint tanning, are clean. The first page and end paper are stuck together; this I assume at the point of manufacture.
A pretty book, carefully made and lovingly illustrated.
