With an introduction by historian and conservateur Jean-Lois Vaudoyer.
Produced in celebration of an exhibition of Roses at The Bagatelle Pavillion, Bois de Bologne, in 1938.
Limited Edition. This is no 535.
The first copy, printed on silk, was gifted to Elizabeth of England who attended the exhibition. This edition is printed on high quality handmade paper. The images are bordered in red and gold.
Shades of pink and red.
The plates are numbered from 1 to 12. Plates 2 and 3 are missing.
The prints are housed in a cover of white and pink paper and kept securely in a folio.
Also included a bill of sale from a framer at The Parker Gallery, Albemarle Street, London. The owner of the prints lived in Rutland Gate, Knightsbridge.
Size: 41 x 32 cms or 16 x 12 3/4 inches.
Condition. The folder is marked with brown stains on he back board, and is worn at the corners; but the contents are, but for some age toning at the edges, exceptionally clean and fresh.
Ideal subjects for framing.
