7 hand drawn maps by cartographer Jose Marin de Rute showing Spanish landscapes from Valladolid, Spain. Plus 1 that is unsigned but is presumed to be by the same artist and mapping the same region. All are dated 1853, 1854.
Of the above 6 are large. They vary in size. The largest measures 34 x 51 cms or 13 1/2 x 19 3/4 inches. There are 2 smaller maps. The largest of these measures 17.3 x 22.3 cms or 6 3/4 x 8 3/4 inches.
Also 3 hand drawn maps signed M. Alvarez Benavides Y Lopez dated 1853 and 1855.
They measure approximately 14 x 19.5 cms or 5 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches.
Condition: Very Good. The paper upon which the maps are drawn is occasionally torn at the edges or marked by spots of foxing. There is some loss to the corners or edges of the paper. Two maps are marked by spots of ink. The surround of one of the maps is marked by dark blemishes. This does not affect the drawing itself however. The same map is missing a corner. These flaws should be visible in the accompanying photographs.
